Early in the preseason Sports Illustrated’s Grant Wahl infamously predicted that Minnesota United FC would be the worst team in MLS history. In his mailbag, he set the wins over/under for the Loons inaugural season at five. This past Saturday, Minnesota earned their sixth win of the season to prove Wahl wrong. After the final whistle blew, the Dark Clouds unveiled a new scarf.
Huge congratulations to Minnesota United for defying my preseason prediction & getting its 6th win. (I want this scarf!) pic.twitter.com/W79fZ3G8Fx

Minnesota now only needs two more wins to surpass the worst teams in MLS history. Houston and Chicago are tied for the worst with seven wins.
Stillwater soccer coaches Phil Johnson and Andy Olson (no relation) will be inducted into the St Croix Valley Hall of Fame. In 32 seasons as the boys coach, Johnson had a career record of 451-156-64 including 17 conference titles, 16 section titles, and back to back state championships in 1995 and 1996. In 17 seasons as the girls coach, Olson had a record of 27-55-27 including 11 conference titles and two state runner-ups. Olson also coached Kyndra Hesse, now known as Kyndra de St Aubin.
