In a press release, Minnesota United CEO Chris Wright said, “This will be my first home opener with MNUFC and the increase in our season ticket base; I am expecting us to pick up where we left off last season and create an incredible atmosphere at TCF Bank Stadium. We want this match to set the tone for the season.”
The Loons last faced the Fire on August 26th when they picked up their first road win since joining MLS. That win was led by a match-winning goal from Abu Danladi.

Minnesota will play in one more home opener as the Portland Timbers wait until April 14th to have their first match at Providence Park.
