De Villardi goes under the knife
Minnesota United defender Thomas de Villardi had successful surgery on his ruptured Achilles tendon. De Villardi was drafted 42nd overall from the University of Delaware by Minnesota in the MLS SuperDraft. During the pre-season, de Villardi primarily played at left back. He is expected to miss six to nine months.
Duluth FC announce three signings
Duluth FC of the NPSL North has announced three signings. Joe Watt, Kyle Farrar, and Mualigbe Keita have signed contracts with the Blue Greens. Watt and Farrar previously played together at the College of St. Scholastica in Duluth. Keita previously played for the University of Wisconsin-Superior.
Former Loons earn NASL TOTW honors
Former Minnesota United players Ben Speas and Connor Tobin each earned a spot on the NASL Team of the Week. Speas and Tobin play for Indy Eleven and North Carolina FC respectively. Minnesota United draftee Tanner Thompson also earned a spot on the Team of the Week for his performance with Indy Eleven.
