The Tailgate: MNUFC Eyeing Sam Nicholson

This week, we ask the fans: “Scottish left winger Sam Nicholson has arrived in the Twin Cities and Minnesota United is rumored to be the frontrunner to sign the player, though he would not be eligible until the transfer window opens July 10th. What’s your take on United’s newest target?”

“It’s about time we started plundering mediocre talent from mediocre leagues in northern Europe for surefire winners.”

    Vivian Terracotta, Sock Sales Executive

“This should allow Kevin Molino to move to a No. 10, as Miguel Ibarra shifts to a No. 8, and Abu Danladi settles into kind of a 7.5 thus pushing Sam Cronin into at least a 19 if we’re being conservative.”

    Timothy Grunpf, In-Flight Magazine Editor

    ...

“I bet he can recite the movie Braveheart from memory.”

    Brian Hoke, Artisanal Flight Instructor

    .

“They say dress for the job you want, and he arrived wearing a suit. I think he is just in the running for some front office role.”

    Helen Persephone, Antisocial Media Strategist

“I don’t know, I’m all about multiculturalism, but filling all the Gatorade bottles with a 25-year Glenlivet Reserve seemed like a bad idea.”

    Gretchen Smitt, Tacks Collector

     .

He is skilled, he is fast, he is a Scottish u-21 International.
What else can I say but he is what we need.

That’s the fear, certainly…. Always possible. We can only hope MNUFC learned from their scouting mistakes earlier and won’t make the same ones (they’ll make all new ones!)

That would be a terrible waste of Glen Livet.
