Minnesota United is looking to shore up its attacking depth and have made New York Red Bulls’ Brandon Allen one of its targets. Allen would be brought in on loan for the rest of the season.
Kristian Dyer tweeted that the Red Bulls forward would be available on loan, but FiftyFive. One has confirmed with a source that he is one of the players the Loons are looking to bring in this summer.
Hearing rumblings of Brandon Allen going out on a loan. Minnesota a possible destination; they showed interest in preseason. #RBNY #Loons

With rookie Abu Danladi struggling with injuries and the forward depth-chart already threadbare, Minnesota needs to bolster its attack should Christian Ramirez be unavailable or even to add attacking options.
Allen has made only one appearance for the Red Bulls’ first team since signing as a Homegrown before the 2016 season. He has featured heavily, however, for New York Red Bulls II in the USL, where he scored 15 goals in 28 matches his debut season. So far in 2017, Allen has scored nine goals in 14 appearances.
Minnesota will likely be making several more moves in the coming months. While a deal does not seem imminent for Allen, the club is certainly trying to fill out its squad soon.
