In this week’s recap of Minnesotans playing professionally outside of the state: Yueill gets a taste of the playoffs while Mallace’s chances remain scarce.
With only two games remaining, Östersunds DFF need all six points to even have a hope of avoiding relegation. ÖDFF were placed in the tight situation after a 2-1 loss to IK Uppsala Fotboll. To make matters worse, the club is on its third coach of the season after Thomas Lilo left last week. Josee Stiever played the full 90 while Tarah Hobbs was missing from the game day roster.
Jackson Yueill made brief appearance in the MLS playoffs that capped off his rookie season. The midfielder came on for the San Jose Earthquakes when Vancouver Whitecaps FC was already up 5-0. In the final five minutes he completed one pass and made one tackle.
Calum Mallace did not make the bench for Seattle Sounders FC’s 0-0 draw with Vancouver Whitecaps FC. It is unlikely that he will feature for Seattle Sounders FC this season barring any significant injuries or suspensions.
Simone Kolander got the weekend off after inclement weather postponed AC Sparta Praha’s game.
Mukwelle Akale missed out on the 18 for Villarreal C in a scoreless draw with Novelda CF.
