    The Complete Darkness 2017

2017 was a big year for soccer in Minnesota and particularly for Minnesota United FC. For the first time since 1981, a professional Minnesota soccer team played in the top flight of American soccer. Attendance topped out at almost 350,000 tickets sold, far out-pacing any other year since the Minnesota Kicks.

To commemorate this year, Byline Press (FiftyFive. One’s parent company) is publishing The Complete Darkness 2017, a print collection of articles, stats, and recaps for the Minnesota United season.

The book will be released on January 26th and includes:

    • “Papa Was a Rolling Stone”: Amos Magee Comes Home, Settles Down, and Builds a Team
    • The Top News of 2017
    • All In: an extension of the profile of Brent Kallman in The Growler
    • A dissection of team and player analytics
    • Biographies of every player
    • Tables of player statistics
    • Recaps and statistics from every match

The book is available in print only for $12. The first 100 Dark Clouds members to purchase will get $2 off the price (see Dark Clouds newsletter for details). Patrons will also get discounts.

The 2017 Complete Darkness is the third of its kind, following the 2014 and 2015 editions.

Just ordered my copy. I’m looking forward to this. I may not always agree with your take on all things soccer, but I have a great deal of respect for the passion and effort you put into the site and MN soccer in general. I’m very excited to see the book!

No one agrees with me, Troy, so you’re in the majority on this.

Diversity of thought is what makes life interesting. None of us are omnipotent and sharing ideas, thoughts, and experiences is what makes life such a wonderful experience. I look forward to many more discussions, debates, and experiences here! 🙂
