Draft day is upon us
The 2018 MLS SuperDraft will take place today in Philadelphia. Minnesota United has three total selections in the first two rounds to bolster the roster. MNUFC selects fifth overall and also holds the 28th and 41st picks in the second round. Last year 81 players were selected, of which over half made a MLS roster in 2017.
Over on USSoccerPlayers.com, Jeff Rueter lists how each team could best use the SuperDraft to add some youth to certain positions.

Coach Adrian Heath spoke this week about the club’s continued efforts to add talent to their roster, despite their recent efforts to sign some players that chose other clubs over MNUFC.
Minnesota United’s star striker Christian Ramirez has received a lot of attention while training with the U.S. men’s national team in California ahead of USMNT’s friendly against Bosnia-Herzegovina later this month. Ramirez tells Sports Illustrated about what this moment means to him and his family after Christian was born in the United States, moved to Colombia, and later in his youth moved back to the U.S.
A proposal recently submitted to the St. Paul City Council states that MLS matches at Allianz Field are to be exempt from official noise limits. A decision on the proposal has been pushed out to February in the midst of rising discussion among local residents speaking out about the noise from both the stadium and additional traffic.
