In this week’s recap of Minnesotans playing professionally outside of the state: Yueill earns an assist and Mallace puts in a full shift.
Teal Bunbury equaled his season high goal mark just 15 games into this year. In 2011 he scored nine goals in 29 appearances for Sporting Kansas City. The forward went the full 90 for the New England Revolution against the Chicago Fire. The Fire did well to limit the Rev’s possession in the box and took the lead in the 63rd minute. However, an error by keeper Richard Sánchez gifted New England the tying goal.

Bunbury did not feature in New England’s 3-2 loss to Louisville FC in the U.S. Open Cup. Cody Cropper played backup to Brad Knighton.
Open Cup play gave Calum Mallace his first start in a competitive game for LAFC. He went the full 90 in LAFC’s 2-0 win over Fresno FC. Playing in the center of the midfield, Mallace spent the game moving the ball from side to side. He did have three looks at goal, but could not convert.
The Portland Timbers eliminated the San Jose Earthquakes from the Open Cup with a 2-0 scoreline. Jackson Yueill went the distance for the Quakes, but was not very aggressive in his passing. The midfielder did create one chance before halftime and also failed to find the target on five shots.
Things started off better for the second year professional against LAFC. In the 11th minute Yueill notched a second assist on the opening goal. Beyond that, however, his impact was limited by playing out wide instead of centrally. In the 53rd minute he was subbed out just after the Quakes tied the score 2-2. LAFC went on to win 4-3 with a goal in the seventh minute of stoppage time.

Finishing up Open Cup play, Nashville SC advanced past the Colorado Rapids with a 2-0 victory. Ismaila Jome put in 73 minutes to help keep the Rapids to just three shots. In addition to his defensive efforts, the midfielder set up a chance right after the start of the 2nd half, but it was not converted.
Jome was a halftime sub in a 1-1 draw with the Tampa Bay Rowdies. He did not see much of the ball in his 45 minutes. Nashville took the lead in the first half and Tampa Bay spent the second half pressing for the equalizer. Despite settling for a draw, Nashville is now unbeaten in 10 games in all competitions.
Atlanta United 2 lost its seventh game of the season at the hands of Indy Eleven. Andrew Kendall-Moullin put in another full shift at center back. He put in a solid defensive performance despite his involvement on the opening goal. A teammates bad pass led to the goal and there was little more he could have done to prevent it short of earning a red card. The defender finished with 6 clearances, 3 interceptions and 2 tackles while completing 90% of his passes.
Tyler David moved back into defense for his sixth full 90 for Bollklubben-46. BK-46 drew 3-3 with HIFK 2 who are one spot above them in the standings. The result leaves the team four points into the relegation zone.
