Gio Savarese is flourishing in MLS
Longtime foe of Minnesota United Gio Savarese was one of the many names offered as a possible head coach as Minnesota United FC made its transition to MLS. Instead, Portland hired the former Cosmos manager last Winter. Since, Gio has lead the Timbres on a record unbeaten streak, and has high hopes for the future.
Loons fall again to Sporting KC
Of all MLS clubs, Sporting KC may be the one with which Minnesota United FC has the most history. The sides met again this weekend, with Minnesota falling 2-0 to the Sporks. Since trading Christian Ramirez on August 6, the Loons have lost three of the four road matches, scoring only three goals. Matters have been made worse by the absence of star Darwin Quintero.
