Loons lose first game in 2019
After a strong 2-0 start against San Jose and Vancouver, Minnesota United FC finally fell to the LA Galaxy on Saturday. Before they lost the game, however, the Loons lost coach Adrian Heath, who underwent dental surgery and could not travel. Ján Greguš and Ángelo Rodríguez scored in the loss.
Before falling to the Galaxy, however, the Loons added depth in the defensive midfield and signed Lawrence Olum. Olum played for the Thunder in the NASL, and now returns to Minnesota.
Zack Steffen injured on international duty
The Columbus keeper was injured and sent home from USMNT Camp, bad news not only for the national team, but the Crew as well. Steffen has been one of the best keepers in MLS and was a mainstay of the Crew’s MLS cup run a few seasons ago. Jesse González replaces Steffen for the USMNT, meaning FC Dallas will be missing him for its March 23 match against Colorado.
