Duluth FC kicked off the NPSL season with a North Conference home match against Sioux Falls on Sunday.
Duluth FC is back on the pitch for another season, and the BlueGreens opened their NPSL North campaign with a 2-0 victory over the Sioux Falls Thunder on their new home turf at Duluth East High School.
The hosts broke the deadlock early with a goal from the head of Ronaldo Fortune in the 4th minute, and then doubled their lead midway through the half courtesy of fellow newcomer Carlyle Junior.
Duluth FC travels to Iowa to play USL League Two side Des Moines Menace in the first round of the U.S. Open Cup Wednesday at 7:30 p.m.
The BlueGreens return to conference play with a home match against Minnesota TwinStars FC Saturday at 7 p.m.
