On the podcast, I predicted a close 2-1 Timbers victory. I think it’s a matchup that should be a lot of fun. Deep down, i just think the chemistry and attacking ability for Portland (plus the home field advantage) pushes them over the edge.

It’s Vytas vs Taylor that scares me more.

I would completely agree. They were talking about this possibly being Portland’s best ever squad, meanwhile this is Minnesota’s first squad.

Serious question, can someone tell me why Ibarra isn’t playing?

Coaches decision clearly. Kadrii is good. But I’d like to see Ibarra next week.

are MN fans OK with the Target logo on the jerseys (I am a Sounders fan, but went to college in MN)? I would really prefer to just see “Target” like “Xbox”, maybe a shoulder Target logo, much smaller.

Nah, from what I’ve seen, we all find it quite ugly. I agree words would have been better for this one rather than a large bullseye on the chest

I think it’s actually one of the least intrusive logos i’ve seen on a jersey. I like it better than spelled out for sure. Ultimately, I really miss the last kits the Loon’s had. The grey on black was so badass.

I love it. It’s a great high profile sponsor for the club. And the target on the GK kit is amazing in so many ways.

First half was poor, but we grew into the game. Only down one, so plenty of time left to get back in this.

We need to change formation though. The 4-3-3 is the same disaster we saw in preseason. We need to shift to the 4-2-2-2. Replace Saeid with Ramirez. Or, with Ibarra, and put Kadrii up top. Nothing against Saeid, but he’s surplus in this formation.

Seems like we’re panicky on the ball. Just hitting passes without trying to weight them- blast it towards the guy and hope they can catch it, so to speak.

It takes time to build a rapport with the defensive line, but at the professional level it needs to be a more clean box.

We will be a better team with a real formation and Jerome Theisson. I’m
not comfortable with Alvbåge either. Might need Shuttleworth or McLain.

      Really bad:
      Taylor, Alvbåge

Really bad but will fix their issues, I think:
      Demidov

      Not optimal:
      Davis, Saeid, Kadrii

      Need to see more from:
      Schüller, Molino, Venegas

      Actually good:
      Warner, Calvo, Ramirez

      Too little time:
      Ibarra
