In this week’s recap of Minnesotans playing professionally outside of the state: Cropper and the Revs give up three-goal lead, Akale comes off the bench while Kallman waits for a change.
In his fifth start of the season Tyler David took on some new roles. Wearing the captain’s armband for the first time for Saint Louis FC, the St. Louis University alumni lined up in the center of the defense to start the game against Orlando City B. After a scoreless first half David moved to the midfield, but could not help his side break the deadlock.
Eric Miller and the Colorado Rapids suffered a 2-0 loss to Orlando City SC this weekend. The Rapids couldn’t get much done in the attack and finished with just three shots to Orlando’s 14. Miller went the full 90 and had six clearances trying to keep his side in the game.
The New England Revolution let a three-goal lead slip into a draw with Seattle Sounders FC. Cody Cropper started in goal and made five saves, but could do little to prevent the Sounders from coming back in the final 15 minutes. Teal Bunbury also made an appearance as a substitute in the 77th minute, but failed to make an impact on the game.
Villarreal CF C’s hopes of promotion took a hit this weekend after a 3-2 loss to CD Castellón. Villarreal had a 2-1 lead in the first half, but conceded two PKs in the second to leave them four points out of a promotion playoff spot. Mukwelle Akale entered the game as a 65th minute sub, but was unable to replicate his performance from last week.
Kassey Kallman and the Washington Spirit are still looking for their first win of the season. The Spirit fell 1-0 to the Houston Dash to start the season with a 0-2-1 record. Kallman lined up on the left side of the midfield until moving to left back after a formation change.

Calum Mallace did not see time for the Montreal Impact in a 2-1 loss to the Vancouver Whitecaps.
Cat Parkhill remained on the bench for FC Kansas City’s 1-0 loss to Sky Blue FC
