USMNT submits 40-man preliminary roster
Bruce Arena has submitted his preliminary roster for this summer’s Gold Cup. Much to the chagrin of some Loons fans and relief of others, Christian Ramirez did not make the roster. Surprisingly, Bundesliga regulars John Anthony Brooks and Bobby Wood also did not make the 40-man roster. Perhaps even more surprising is the fact that 32 of the 40 players named currently play in MLS. The reliance on MLS players was not seen a whole lot when Jürgen Klinsmann was in charge. Notably making the USMNT roster for the first time is Olympic diver Dom Dwyer. Sam Stejskal of MLSsoccer.com has a list of five players who he thinks should have made the preliminary roster.
Loons make SportsCenter’s Top 10!
It wasn’t for good reasons, but Minnesota United’s match against Sporting Kansas City produced two entries in SportCenter’s Top 10 highlights. Both were the wonderful goals from Sporting Kansas City.

US U-20s wallop kiwis
The US U-20 National Team cruised through the first knockout round of the World Cup with a 6-0 win over New Zealand. Jonathan Tannenwald was kind enough to put all of the goal highlights into one article over on PhillyNews.
