It would prove to be Bunbury’s best chance at scoring a goal of his own, but he did create a golden opportunity for a teammate. In the 49th minute he found Diego Fagúndez inside the box with a wide open goal. Unfortunately Fagúndez took a bad touch and saw his shot blocked by a recovering defender.
Jackson Yueill made his fourth start in five games for the San Jose Earthquakes against the Colorado Rapids in a 1-0 win. The midfielder was active in the center of the field and had two chances to affect the scoreline. In the first half Yueill made a run into the box, but the ball was played too far ahead. Later in the game he played a 1-2 with Tommy Thompson, but Thompson’s shot went over the bar.
On the other side of the scoreline was Eric Miller. The 24-year-old started at right back, but a substitution at halftime shifted him to the left side. Miller finished the game with three interceptions, two tackles, two clearances, and two recoveries.
Tyler David came on in the second half in Saint Louis FC’s 1-0 win over the Richmond Kickers. The midfielder entered in the 68th minute to help his side close out the victory, but did not see much of the ball.
