In this week’s recap of Minnesotans playing professionally outside of the state: Bunbury scores in losing effort while own goals cost Miller and Kallman.
In her second appearance for AC Sparta Praha, Simone Kolander scored her first goal in another one-sided game. After the first 45 minutes Sparta Praha led by four over Locomotiva Brno HH. In the 69th minute Kolander made it 6-0 with a nice give and go before being subbed off 15 minutes later. The game finished with a 7-0 scoreline.
Tarah Hobbs made her second start in goal for Östersunds DFF in a 3-1 loss to Assi IF. The former Gopher was beaten from the spot for the second straight game. The two other goals came from a corner and a counter attack.
The team is suffering from a limited roster. Only one sub was on the bench for the game as Josee Stiever and other players are not available to play yet.
Teal Bunbury scored the New England Revolution’s lone goal in a 2-1 loss to New York City FC. After a scoreless first half, the forward pounced on a loose ball given up by Sean Johnson. The goal was his 5th in six games. Bunbury also put in a decent shift defensively, leading his team with five interceptions.

Unfortunately the Revs couldn’t hold the lead. Cody Cropper didn’t have much to do until after his team had taken the lead. NYCFC finished with only three shots on target. He made one save, but his defense fell apart as the game came to a close. NYCFC scored the game winner in the 4th minute of stoppage time.

In the first game without Pablo Mastroeni, the Colorado Rapids lost to D.C. United 1-0 at home. The lone goal of the game came when Jared Watts misplayed a back pass into his own net. Eric Miller started at left back for the Rapids and went the full 90 and earned MOTM honors.
Kassey Kallman returned to the starting lineup for the Washington Spirit in a 2-0 defeat to the North Carolina Courage. A goal right out of halftime gave the Courage the lead. In the 84th minute a teammate’s clearance smashed off Kallman’s face and into the goal. To make matters worse, she needed treatment from the trainer before returning to finish the game.
Calum Mallace made his debut in Seattle, but for Seattle Sounders 2. Mallace started for the USL side in a 2-1 win over Portland Timbers 2. Even in new surroundings the midfielder saw a lot of the ball, making 50 passes. He was also more active defensively than during his appearances in Montreal.
Saint Louis FC lost 2-1 to the Pittsburgh Riverhounds. Tyler David made another start at forward. The usual midfielder saw his only shot attempt blocked by a defender before subbing off at the hour mark.
Mukwelle Akale remained on the bench for Villarreal B in a 1-0 win over Atlético Baleares.
Cat Parkhill was an unused substitute in FC Kansas City’s 2-1 victory against Portland Thorns FC.
