Minnesota United is looking to make its first signing of the post-season in Ghanaian midfielder Thomas Abbey from Hearts of Oak, the website Ghanaweb reports.
The deal, which is being finalized, would bring in the golden boot winner for the Ghanaian champions. The 24-year-old Abbey scored 14 goals as a No. 10 for Hearts of Oak.
Bringing in a young, goal-scoring playmaker is an important step for the Loons, who used Johan Venegas and Kevin Molino in that role this season.
Update: Ghanaian soccer journalist, Nuhu Adams corrected my initial description of Abbey as a No. 10.
He is versatile. He can play LB, LW, LM, CM.
