Minnesota United: past, present, and future

Minnesota United lost to Atlanta United on Saturday in frigid weather. The cold temperature dropped as the game progressed, visibly affecting the visitors while the home team refused to adapt to its conditions. William Stenross at MLSsoccer.com brings us the story of how each team was and was not impacted by the blustery conditions.

Moving forward, after some visa issues are sorted, Minnesota United will have the talents of new Designated Player Darwin Quintero. Paul Tenorio reveals how Minnesota United went about signing the Colombian and what MNUFC does to sign a targeted player.

As Allianz Field is erected, it casts an ever-growing shadow over Midway. Wes Burdine sat down with Dr. Bill McGuire to talk about what the stadium will look like and include. In addition to a “brew hall,” plans include an outdoor green space that can be utilized on non-matchdays with a wide variety of events.

    In depth look in goal

American Soccer Analysis published a tableau of 2017 goalkeepers, including a variety of data. The information ranges from the basic (league average save percentage) to the more in-depth, showing where specific goalkeepers find success and struggle at stopping shots. Also included is a visualization of each goalkeeper’s success.

    D.C. not united

In a situation no one wants to see, Pablo Maurer at the Washington City Paper tells the tale of D.C. United’s supporters groups. A rift has formed in the supporters groups centering on ticket sales at the new Audi Arena. The Screaming Eagles and La Barra Brava are at odds, with D.C. United seemingly playing a role in the divide.
