There will be an event on December 12 with MLS bigwigs in town for a groundbreaking on the new stadium, but the real question for the Loons’ fans is: What will the nickname of the stadium be? The correct answer is Cloud City, of course.

Tampa Bay Rowdies announce plans to try to get an MLS franchise
Tampa Bay announced on Tuesday night that they were officially seeking an MLS franchise, joining Miami, Sacramento, St. Louis, and pretty much every other decent sized city in the US. At least their stadium renderings are pretty nice. Al Lang Stadium was a pretty great place to see soccer, with the stadium overlooking the bay. This update could make it look even better.

US Soccer announce that there is no announcement in regards to NASL

While FiftyFive.One was the first to break that NASL was essentially dead in the water, it turns out US Soccer isn’t ready to throw in the towel. While it’s not clear how NASL could continue, this is likely to let US Soccer continue negotiating the wind-up of NASL to protect US Soccers reputation.
Gophers end the season ranked 20th
20th was good for tops in the Big Ten. While their performance in the NCAA tournament wasn’t what the team was hoping for, their regular season and Big Ten tournament win were recognized in the final, year-end poll.
