  • Lech Poznan Winger Muhamed Keita “Visiting” With Minnesota United

Minnesota United has been on an Arthurian quest to sign every possible Scandinavian and it seems they may not have yet completed their mission. FiftyFive. One can confirm that Lech Poznan winger, Muhamed Keita, is “visiting” with the Loons as they train in Arizona.

Keita was first spotted by the Star Tribune’s Meg Ryan, who is covering the team from Arizona:

Keita’s agent confirmed to FiftyFive. One that the Gambian-Norwegian was not just taking in the sun and watching drills. Rather, Keita is “visiting” with the club as the winger weighs “a number of options” available to him.

Keita just finished a stint on loan in the Norwegian Tippeligaen, which is presumably where Manny Lagos and Minnesota United crossed paths with him. A right-footed player, Keita was most recently used by Bærum-based Stabaek as an inverted winger on the left flank.

Keita’s signing still may be unlikely. The Loons are close to signing a similar player in Bashkim Kadrii, who has also played as an inverted left winger. In addition, they are already over their limit for international players (though at least one green card seems on the way).

Yeah left winger, that was one of our needs, right?

An aside: is it getting weird how many of our more key players are left-footed? Calvo, Schuller, Kadrii, and Ibarra, right? Seems like most teams only have 1-2 prominent southpaws, but almost half of our presumptive starters are. I feel like it means something.

        Ibarra is not left-footed.

I would presume the Molino deal solidifies the fact that this visit will be nothing more than a visit?
