A report from the Costa Rican newspaper La Nación has linked Forward Daniel Colindres with a move to Minnesota United. New Director of Player Personnel Amos Magee traveled to Costa Rica in the middle of November, but could not watch Colindres play because of the postponed match.
“De hecho personeros del plantel vinieron al país para ver el desempeño del morado en el duelo ante Alajuelense, en el inicio de la cuadrangular final”
When Magee was introduced to media, Manny Lagos said that Magee would be traveling to Costa Rica the weekend of November 19th. The report from La Nación
indicates that Colindres was at least one of the targets. Saprissa’s match against Alajuelense was postponed and La Nación believes he (or someone from the club) will be returning to watch the match on December 7th.
Colindres, 31, has spent most of his career playing for Saprissa, making over 150 appearances for the club. He has never been a prolific goalscorer, having never cracked double digits in a season. He has a head for goal, though, and is not afraid to shoot from distance. Colindres also has 7 caps for La Sele.
New head coach Adrian Heath and sporting director Manny Lagos are also on a scouting trip of their own, taking off on Wednesday morning to catch several matches in Central & South America. We’ll update with another post as their schedule comes out.
