Minnesota United FC faces Toronto FC in its second-to-last preseason match
Minnesota United FC will be facing Toronto FC down in Orlando at 2:00 p.m. Central Standard Time. The game will be available for streaming on torontofc.ca or mnufc.com.
Thanks to Andy Greder at the Pioneer Press, we’ve got a minutes total for each player from the Portland tournament. It looks like Adrian Heath has been pretty even-handed with preseason minutes, giving nearly every player time except Joshua Gatt, Bobby Shuttleworth, and Bernardo Añor. With this being one of the last chances to evaluate players in game situations before the season starts, expect a “line change” sometime during the second half so as many players as possible get minutes.
The team will finish its preseason against San Antonio FC on Sunday. No word on if Sting (the mascot, not the singer) will make an appearance at that match.
Jérôme Thiesson officially signs with the Loons
Minnesota United has made it official, Swiss Jérôme Thiesson has been signed by the club. The 29-year-old looks to immediately compete for a starting spot at right back. Check out the highlights video the team posted of the new Loon.

Today in dead tree media
Everton Magazine, the game day magazine for the Toffees, has a feature on former Everton forward and current Minnesota United head coach Adrian Heath. We’ll definitely have to see if the full article pops up on the internet, but the image in the tweet below is quite the tease!
