Minnesota United FC finishes up preseason against the ashes of the San Antonio Scorpions
San Antonio FC, the USL team that was once the San Antonio Scorpions, takes the pitch against Minnesota United FC. After the team’s first loss of preseason against Toronto FC on Wednesday, the team will likely want to end the preseason on a strong note.
The team announced that the preseason match will be at 10:30 a.m. on Sunday and will be streamed live on Facebook. No link available yet.

New points of emphasis for PRO referees this season
New points of emphasis for MLS refs in 2017:
1) Holding in box on restarts
2) Visual dissent
3) Delaying restarts
4) Persistent infringement— Sam Stejskal (@samstejskal) February 24, 2017
What this means will likely become apparent after the first few weekends of MLS action.
Matthew Doyle has his final preseason assessment of the Loons
…and it’s rather positive.
“That means they’ll be bringing a half-dozen internationals of one vintage or another off the bench. This doesn’t make them appreciably different from most MLS teams, but that’s kind of the point, right? MNUFC don’t feel like a paper-thin expansion team just trying to make it work with cast-offs.”
For those of us following the team, it’s been clear since the first Portland preseason game: this team has been built well. It’s great that the national media is starting to see that too.
