Theisson was excellent tonight! He really shut down his side of the field. His movement was excellent and he was in open positions a ton of the first half. When Danladi is healthy, he really opens the field for us. He should continue to develop into something special. Christian’s goal was outstanding. His movement and the finish were top notch. Nicholson had some flashes and harassed players whether moving forward or defending. He’s oinly going to get better as he gets more time with the team. Boxall is excellent. His size and heading ability clogged the middle and provided us some much needed stablity on the back line. Jome had some excellent tackles and some bad gaffes. His speed and physiciality is better than our other wingers which is why he’s out there. But he seemed the weakest link of our back four. Cronin and Ibson were solid. Ibson gives us some great stuff at times, but he was a bit off tonight and he had several bad giveaways. Molino earned his check tonight, he was excellent and if he can play like this week in and week out, the trade was worth every penny. It was also nice to see Johan get some time and he looked good in the minuted he had. He had several cheeky passes and played faster than anyone else out there. His offsides was on the mistiming of the pass more than his run. He looked dangerous and made positive plays when he touched the ball. It was good to see us healthy and competitive.

Mmm… Theisson is good/great outside of our own box, but he seems to struggle to mark players close-in. Constantly fails to be goal side on his guy on crosses.

The look on Ibarra’s face after he scored in injury time…that, and his trying to make a play forced the own goal…he earned every penny of his check tonight as well…

…give that man a Blue Ribbon!

I’m a little surprised that Jome’s ratings are as high as they are. I thought he looked lost quite a bit, reacted late a lot and just generally wasn’t positioned well. His poor defending led to at least two DCU chances that could/should have been put away. He’s obviously learning how to play fullback, and his ability to cover ground makes up for a lot, but he’s still got a ways to go before he’s really an MLS calibre player, IMO. Not sure if Boxall will slide out & Thiesson switch to left when Kallman is back, but that left fullback spot is still a weakness. With Taylor back, we almost have a glut of capable central defenders.

There were some sloppy/ugly stretches in both halves, but otherwise happy to very happy with everyone’s performance.
