Playing professional sports is one of the most glamorous jobs in the world: making a few hundred bucks a month and picking up shifts at a coffee shop. You know, that kind of stuff.
When Tarah Hobbs and Josee Steiver graduated almost a year ago, they were part of a lauded Gopher soccer senior class. They were two of four players who would pursue professional contracts after getting knocked out of the NCAA Tournament (Hobbs, Stiever, Simone Kolander, and Rashida Beal).
Both had been named all-everything, playing from day one in Minnesota. We wanted to see what it was like to go from big woman on campus to young professional plying your trade overseas. Despite what the quality of the video may convey, the interviews were not actually from either side of the Atlantic Ocean.
Our next interview will hopefully with fellow Gopher alum turned European pro Simone Kolander, who is currently wrapping up her season in the Czech Republic.
We’re going LIVE for @FiftyFiveOne with @THobbs_00 to talk @GopherSoccer and playing abroad. https://t.co/JPiYqv13Sp
