By all accounts, Christian Ramirez had a good debut in MLS in 2017. The Minnesota United FC mainstay scored 14 goals, the most of any American player if you exclude penalty kicks.
Ramirez’s goals on the pitch also translated to sales off the pitch, as MLS announced he finished 17th in jerseys sold for the season.
Ramirez’s sales put Minnesota United in a small group of teams in the top 25 jersey sales. Only nine other teams cracked the top list.
For a player who wasn’t a starter on day one of the season, 2017 was indeed a break-out year for Ramirez.
