MNUFC still seeking additions for 2018 season
Although the summer transfer window closed on Wednesday, MLS clubs can still bring in out-of-contract players through the roster freeze date on September 14. MNUFC is reportedly interested in doing just that, with their eye on an unnamed midfielder.
Mason Toye loaned to Colorado Springs
In other player movement news, forward Mason Toye has been loaned to Colorado Springs SwitchBacks FC of the USL. MNUFC drafted the 19-year-old University of Indiana product with the seventh pick in the 2018 MLS SuperDraft.
2018 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup finalists set
Philadelphia Union and Houston Dynamo will square off in the final of the 2018 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup on September 26 at BBVA Compas Stadium. The Union are making their third appearance in the final, having failed to win in their previous two attempts, while the Dynamo are appearing in the final for the first time in club history, meaning the cup will have a first-time winner this year.
