Mason Toye scores first professional goal for Colorado Springs Switchbacks
Minnesota United FC loanee Mason Toye scored the first goal of his loan spell with the Colorado club last Saturday night. Toye’s 11th minute strike was the opening goal of the game against Los Angeles Galaxy II. The goal was Toye’s first professional goal of his young career. LA Galaxy II rebounded from the early deficit to defeat the Switchbacks 3-1.
Orlando City B latest team to join USL Division III
In an announcement on Thrusday, Orlando City B, a club owned and operated by MLS’s Orlando City SC, became the latest founding member of USL III, which is set to begin play in 2019. Following the announcement, OCB is the seventh of an expected 10 teams to compete in the inaugural season.
Miami MLS team (finally) gets a name,crest
The franchise awarded to David Beckham as a part of the deal to bring the English icon to MLS finally has a name and crest, both of which were announced Wednesday. Club Internacional de Fútbol Miami is set to begin play in 2020.

This coach gives new meaning to barking out orders
After manager Carlos Jara Saguier, of Paraguayan second division club 2 de Mayo, fed a stray dog, Tesapara, she has remained with the club as an “assistant coach.” Her presence has not made the team go to the dogs, as they say, as 2 de Mayo finished third, one spot below the promotion places to the Primera División in the recently completed season.
