The U.S. Open Cup entered the round of 16 last night, with FC Dallas winning 3-1 against Colorado Rapids at home. The remaining seven matches take place tonight, including FC Cincinnati facing Chicago Fire on ESPN2.

Chris Torello of Bay News 9 is reporting that the Tampa Bay Rowdies are in the top four of potential MLS expansion candidates. No word yet on whether or not Bill Edwards is already compiling highlight videos of MLS referees.
Hmong Freedom Celebration this weekend

July 1 and 2 is the 37th annual Hmong International Freedom Celebration in Saint Paul. Minnesota United FC is the lead sponsor of the festival’s soccer tournament, and this year’s winning teams will win tickets to the July 4 match against Columbus Crew SC.
