    News in Brief: Deltas Take NASL Trophy, Cloud City From the Clouds, and More

    NASL

    The San Francisco Deltas won the NASL Soccer Bowl in the team’s first—and what looks like only—season in the league. They defeated the New York Cosmos 2-0 on a first-half penalty by Tommy Heinemann and a second half stoppage time goal from Devon Sandoval.

    Not all is rosy in the NASL, however. The future of the league is uncertain after two big rulings against it in the U.S. court system. Jeff Rueter gives us the rundown on how the NASL got here, while Neil Morris gives an in-depth look at where, exactly, the league is and what could come next.

    As the construction of Cloud City continues in St. Paul, questions remain about what will become of the land not taken by the stadium itself. Frederick Melo looks at the “great lawn,” what it is, and whether or not it will be a part of the stadium.

      NEE – “next eight eliminated” started on the great Northern Pitch. This looks like a good place to post to continue; although it summarizes the next six eliminated.
      – #69 Honduras out;
      – #47 Greece out;
      – #35 Congo DR out;
      – #26 Ireland out;
      – #23 Northern Ireland;
      – #15 Italy out;
      Also, Tunisia (#28); Sweden (#25); Denmark (#19); Croatia (#18); Switzerland (#11) qualify.
      The NP site had a great thread where we could share and discuss WC Qualifiers.
