Minnesota United FC used two goals in the first six minutes to hold on for their first win against Indy Eleven this year, avenging the loss last week away to Indy. First Danny Cruz earned Minnesota a penalty that Christian Ramirez converted. Then three minutes later, Stefano Pinho found Ramirez at the far post to double their lead. Fantastic goalkeeping by Sammy Ndjock kept the scoreline 2-0 for the remaining 84 minutes of the game.
Danny Cruz Earns Penalty, Ramirez Converts from the Spot
In the third minute, Danny Cruz beat his mark Greg Janicki into the box, causing Janicki to tackle him from behind. While Cruz was receiving treatment for a Brad Ring elbow to the face, Ramirez caught Jon Busch cheating to his left and drilled it right down the center.

Pinho’s cross has eyes, finds Ramirez on the far post for the second goal
Stephano Pinho had space along the left side and crossed the ball into the box. Jon Busch was forced to respect the run by Danny Cruz to the near post, but a clever dummy by Cruz found Ramirez on the far side for the second Minnesota goal and his tenth on the season.

Sammy Ndjock and the defense holds steady.
Much of the rest of the game would feature Minnesota conceding the midfield space to Indy Eleven, and relying on clutch defending and stout goalkeeping by Sammy Ndjock to keep the score at 2-0. Newcomer Jack Blake came on early in the first half after Juliano Vicentini was forced off the field in the 17th minute with thigh tightness.
Nah – Sammy…
