In the Women’s DII bracket Minnesota State University – Mankato got a bye in the first round. They won the NSIC tourney and had a record of 16-3-2 (12-2-1 NSIC).
In the Women’s DIII bracket, a number of teams from Minnesota and surrounding states made the tournament, including Augsburg who won the MIAC championship this year.

Juan Arango is the 2016 NASL Golden Ball Winner

Arango, 36, who received the most votes from media and fans, scored 15 goals (five from free kicks) and added seven assists for the defending NASL Champions. The play and the leadership of the veteran midfielder from Venezuela helped New York finish first in both the Fall Season and Combined Standings as the Cosmos nailed down the No. 1 seed in The Championship. New York defeated Rayo OKC, 2-1, on Nov. 5 to advance to The Championship Final with Arango scoring a goal and adding an assist on the game-winner.

NASL Prez Bill Peterson Suggests NASL Might Lose Rayo OKC
Empire of Soccer has a report from this week’s NASL media conference call that suggests that Rayo OKC might be on the chopping block. While there have been rumors that that might be true, this is the first time that NASL has acknowledged that Rayo OKC might not be back. Here’s the money quote from Jake Nutting’s report of the conference call:
“I’m not exactly sure,” Peterson said of next year’s field of teams. “You can do the math of where we’re at today, there’s a couple of other things we’re looking at, and I think we will probably make those decisions at the end of this month.
