Juan Arango is the 2016 NASL Golden Ball Winner

    262e1c09-a79f-495c-b0b1-3a23a1aafab6

    From the press release:

Arango, 36, who received the most votes from media and fans, scored 15 goals (five from free kicks) and added seven assists for the defending NASL Champions. The play and the leadership of the veteran midfielder from Venezuela helped New York finish first in both the Fall Season and Combined Standings as the Cosmos nailed down the No. 1 seed in The Championship. New York defeated Rayo OKC, 2-1, on Nov. 5 to advance to The Championship Final with Arango scoring a goal and adding an assist on the game-winner.

A former teammate of Matt VanOekel’s, Connor Tobin, has a thing or two to say about that, though:

Turbo stunned for the 2nd time this week. The amount of non-knowers in soccer is crazy-no question @MVOextreme was the MVP of @naslofficial

    US v Mexico

With the US playing Mexico in a particularly charged political environment, one fan has a brilliant plan: to go around meeting Mexican fans before and after the match. Join him.

NASL Prez Bill Peterson Suggests NASL Might Lose Rayo OKC

Empire of Soccer has a report from this week’s NASL media conference call that suggests that Rayo OKC might be on the chopping block. While there have been rumors that that might be true, this is the first time that NASL has acknowledged that Rayo OKC might not be back. Here’s the money quote from Jake Nutting’s report of the conference call:

“I’m not exactly sure,” Peterson said of next year’s field of teams. “You can do the math of where we’re at today, there’s a couple of other things we’re looking at, and I think we will probably make those decisions at the end of this month.

And that’s all the news that’s fit to print. Any comments? Questions? Be sure to share them below!
