Disjointed game – individually, I thought most of the players played decent – not great, but decent. Collectively, it was a dumpster fire for most of the game. I’ll tip my hat to Jome and Davis who both did reasonably well after Greenspan went out. I was disappointed in Ibarra, his touch needs improvement. I love his hustle and he shut down a dangerous counter from Houston, but his mistakes cost us opportunities and some scary moments. I was a little disappointed to see Bashkim subbed out at the half, but Martin played well and was a significant improvement. Molino looked more the player I expect to see week in and week out, but he struggled to find space. The final pass, the final touch, the final anything from this team was just off tonight. Can’t wait to get Calvo and Taylor back so we have some depth and options. Looking forward to seeing our new guys soon! I was disappointed to not see Allen on the pitch as a late sub to push for the goal.

Watch the last 20 minutes again and you’ll see Ish was awful. Poor crosses, poor touches (he lost an easy pass to him out of bounds) and a lack of any zest. Probably needs to be loaned down to a lower division team. It would be great if he could contribute more but he’s just not quality yet.

I watched the whole game. When Jome came in, I wasn’t thrilled and figured we were giving up more goals again. I was pleasantly surprised we didn’t. Yes, Houston had chances, but they weren’t able to capitalize. Jome isn’t who I want to see out on the pitch often, but he wasn’t a complete liabliity and he did offer some movement forward as well as getting back possession on a number of occassions. The whole team struggles with 90 minutes and I question why we don’t use our subs, especially when we have another game on Saturday.

And, Ish marked Wenger out (of the game) A hero just for that.
Seriously, Wenger had to be on a short list of Dynamo players capable of finishing a quality scoring chance, and he didn’t get any while Ish was marking him.

I guess this is why it’s fun to be a fan of this game. I completely disagree about Molino and Jome. Molino was awful, slow decision making, only one incisive pass I can remember, fails to reverse the ball, is predictable. Ish, who I’m cheering for due to his hometown connection was really bad too. Passing out of bounds, aimless crosses to the keeper…

That game was bad bad bad. That said, this morning, I’m feeling less angry about because at least they didn’t lose–thank you Bobby S.

The game was bad, I’m not trying to shine a turd here. Given the options we had, who would you have played when Greenspan went down? I’m not saying Jome was good, but it wasn’t like we went down to 10 men with him on the field. He also had a few runs and at least got down the sideline for some crosses. Like I said in my original post, it was the last touch, pass, etc that was off (for everyone). We dominated possession, but we didn’t capitalize on it. Molino was a big part of why we had possession and he fought throughout the game. That’s something he hasn’t done consistently this season. It was nice to see. Was it enough? No, but it was nice to see. Although I am a little upset with his dive after the ref won that 50/50 challenge!

Disjointed is good description of this game.
Watch the first 20 minutes again and look at Davis’ play. All of those early Houston chances (Thank Bobby Houston can’t score on the road) were because JD was out of position and is too slow for MLS. I love the guy but he shouldn’t be playing in this league. Once he moved to center back as part of the Greenspan injury his game got better.
